Sharpstown Warming Centers
As Winter Storm Enzo descends upon us, it's probably safest to shelter in place. But if your power goes out and the inside temperature drops too low, you have the option of braving your way (slowly and carefully, please) to one of these warming centers in Sharpstown:
- Bayland Community Center, 6400 Bissonnet St: 24/7 warming shelter, operated by Harris County Precinct 4 and the American Red Cross until further notice. Food, water, and cots available. Crated pets allowed.
- Southwest Multi-Service Center, 6400 High Star Drive: 24/7 warming shelter, operated by City of Houston until midday on Thursday.
Hours and available shelters are subject to change, so check this map or call 3-1-1 before hopping in your car. (The map may not have the latest info on Bayland's hours, though. As I type this, it still shows dated information.)
Stay warm, everyone.
