Everyone in Houston is invited to the Liberty Fest at PlazAmericas Mall on Sunday, July 2, from 4 PM to 9 PM. The festival includes entertainment and over 80 vendors, including local restaurants. A kids' zone, sponsored by Indus, will include face painting and games. There will be fireworks at 9 PM.

Entry and parking are free.

Worried about the heat? To keep festivalgoers cool, there will be three cooling buses provided by METRO, one cooling bus provided by Houston Christian University, and a long mist tunnel.

Stage entertainment will include She Wolf, Korean traditional dance, Hispanic dancers, a mariachi band, and the HPD Lion dance team. There will be large LED screens to make it easier for everyone to see the performances.

The event is put on by the Southwest Management District (SWMD) in conjunction with the Sharpstown Civic Association and Telemundo Houston. SWMD Chairman Kenneth Li says that this is a signature event for the district and he is looking forward to having this event every year.

No alcohol will be served at the event.
