Sharpstown Goes Back to School: PreK-College Start Dates
The Sharpstown Super Neighborhood is known for its ethnic diversity and international cuisine. It should also be known for its diversity of schools. Including two Independent School Districts, multiple charter schools, and a thick cluster of private Christian schools, Sharpstown has a long buffet of options for students of all ages.
Many students are already back in school, and more will be going back on Monday, August 28. Here are most of Sharpstown's schools with their start dates for the 2023-24 school year.
Houston Independent School District

Offers certificate programs for dental assistants, EMTs, limited medical radiologic technologists, medical assistants, rehab therapy technicians, and medical coding and billing. Also offers an associate’s degree in Health and Medical Administrative Service.
Programs start monthly or bi-monthly, with the next start date on Tuesday, September 5.
Dallas Theological Seminary – Houston Campus
Yes, Dallas Theological Seminary has a campus in Houston. Who knew? It's an institute for training Christian pastors, counselors, etc., with a variety of master’s and doctorate programs.
Classes begin Monday, August 28.
Houston Christian University (formerly Houston Baptist University)
Private Christian university providing bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate programs. It also includes Houston Theological Seminary. Must be some competition with Dallas.
