TIRZ #20 Board Meeting: June 8, 2023

In the Southwest District Office at 6588 Corporate Dr., Suite 168, the board for TIRZ (Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone) #20 met to discuss its budget for fiscal year 2024.

Four of the seven board members were present: Welcome Wilson, Jr., Dale Davidson, Stephen Le, Jr., and Dennis “Corky” Fowler.

Two highlights:

• Lisa Griffith from the Houston Parks Board reported that work cannot begin on constructing Sharpstown Trail until the Texas Department of Transportation approves it in the State Transportation Plan. Sharpstown Trail, also known as CenterPoint Trail, is a planned north-to-south hiking and biking trail along the CenterPoint power lines near Gessner.
• The board approved the Fiscal Year 2024 budget with no opposing votes. You can read the budget starting on page 133 of the Board Packet document at the bottom of this article, which also contains the entire agenda for the meeting.
