Today's your chance to have a bigger-than-usual say in the governments of Houston, Harris County, and Texas.

Wondering where you can vote?

You'll find a helpful interactive map at https://www.harrisvotes.com/Vote-Centers (the website of the Harris County Clerk's Office Election Department).

But when you first open the map, it will only display voting centers downtown. Don't worry—there are plenty of locations to vote in the Sharpstown area too! Here are several:

If you're using a cell phone or a Mac, the webpage may be organized differently, but you get the idea.

The list includes Bayland Community Center (at 6400 Bissonnet St), Chinese Community Center's recreation center (at 9800 Town Park Dr), and more.

Voting started this morning and ends today, November 7, at 7:00 PM. To vote, you must bring an approved photo ID such as a Texas driver's license or U.S. passport.

The election includes eighteen mayoral candidates, two District J city council candidates, several at-large city council candidates, fourteen state constitutional amendments, and more.

If you're overwhelmed by the snowstorm of propositions and candidate names, check out this nonpartisan voter's guide from the League of Women Voters of Houston. It includes questionnaire answers from nearly all of the candidates, plus arguments for and against each state proposition.

And if you live in District J (like most Sharpstonians), don't forget to read the Sharpener's coverage of District J candidates Edward Pollard and Ivan Sanchez.
